The Challenge- Pleasure craft of all types and sizes continue to grow in complexity and the related hazards and exposures are changing at an increasing pace. Meanwhile, the behavior of yacht owners and captains continues to evolve with societal changes. In addition, many of the applicable Standards are voluntary, leaving insurers with the challenge of understanding and enforcing those which are relevant to mitigating risk.
To expect an individual agent or underwriter to have an in-depth knowledge of all of this is asking a lot.
